I know I talk (a lot) about the power of pictures – I would, I’m a photographer! However, marry photographs with well-written copy and you’re stacking the odds in your favour with regards a winning formula for your business.
When you click on a webpage, open a magazine or brochure, are you drawn by the pictures first, or do you read the text? In our fast-paced busy lives, we read much less and our attention spans are shorter. We filter information in the first few lines of reading and decide whether to continue. A great picture accompanied by a great tagline or title, can prove immensely powerful in providing your business with a professional edge – either by adding impact, wow factor or simply by drawing attention.
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing local copywriter Carolyn Scarrow, who ‘provides a professional copywriting, publicity and marketing service that can help you increase the effectiveness of your existing business literature and communications‘. Carolyn has many years experience in her chosen field which can assist, ‘your business or organisation achieve its objectives through well-written content for websites, social media (including writing your blogs & tweets), brochures & guides, (e)newsletters, event literature, press releases, reports and much more’.
‘Your organisation’s words market your product and create a reaction from your customers. Get them right and your business will achieve its aims, fail and your message will be lost. Good copy will ensure your business wins new customers’, says Carolyn.
Below are a selection of publicity pictures I captured of Carolyn – much thought has gone into the presentation of the person and the location of each picture. The lighting, choice of clothing. colour and choice of location, all present a different perspective of the person, which can be used for self-promotion on a variety of platforms.
If you’d like more information on Carolyn’s copywriting and publicity services take a look at her website and get in touch.
