It’s good to do something different! This January, at The Societies annual convention, I chose to speak about the written word and its marketing power for photographers and their websites. As some of you already know, I write a column for The Societies magazine Imagemaker, so it was with interest that Editor, Mike McNamee came along to support my Masterclass (The Write Stuff) and to gauge interest for further inclusion in the magazine.
To be honest, neither of us were sure how the session would be received, or indeed if anyone would attend. Especially as I was going head-to-head with regards timings with another four speakers, whose Masterclasses may have appeared more exciting to the jobbing photographer. I’m happy to say, the class was well attended, and we enjoyed an interactive session with much audience participation.
The convention is over for another year, but I’m already in the planning stages of what I’d like to deliver in 2018 – should I be invited. If you have any requests, please send me a message via this website and I’ll see what I can devise. Or if you’d like a topic covered in Imagemaker, The Societies magazine.
If you attended my class and are reading this blog post, thank you so much for coming, it was a pleasure to meet you. It was good to see some of you again at the Trade Show too, thanks for stopping to chat and providing great feedback – it’s really useful to hear what you enjoyed and would like to hear more about – I hope 2017 proves a great year for you and your businesses.
Thank you again for a very engaging and information talk today. Brianna Wignall – GnBri Photography.
Thanks again for today. It was very interesting and I feel it has given me some great ideas. I’m now going to go over the things I identified I needed to do. It was lovely to meet you and I hope to catch up again in the future. Nicola Elliot – Nicola Elliot Photography.
Sorry about my poor English, I’m French… I found lots of valuable information in your class. My new website will air in a week and there are some ideas I will definitely make mine. What I loved the most about your presentation is how you dared to be so truthful. Somebody’s recipe will not fit everyone and those “recipes” are explained without some little bricks that would have made them really efficient…. I’m looking forward to meeting you next year!
